The hero of the living room is undoubtedly the stunning 1910 gateleg table, meticulously sourced for this project to add a touch of timeless elegance. Upon entering the living room, visitors are greeted by floor-to-ceiling original glass doors that offer a seamless connection to the outdoor beauty of the Brisbane River. These grand doors frame the English gateleg table perfectly, allowing it to take center stage in the room.
The table is thoughtfully adorned with fresh foliage, feature coffee table books on interior design, fashion, and history, as well as the client's own treasured collectables, creating a dynamic and personalized focal point that combines heritage and style. The design not only celebrates the table's history but also highlights the client's appreciation for both contemporary and classic aesthetics
To enhance the sense of comfort and intimacy within the living room, smaller moments were thoughtfully crafted for relaxed reading and quiet reflection. Locally made occasional chairs were strategically placed to invite leisure, their simple elegance adding to the space’s warmth.
The client’s cherished family heirlooms were also brought back to life through feature reupholstery, infusing the room with a sense of personal history and timeless value.
The living room is anchored by an ornate marble fireplace, a striking centerpiece that commands attention. Surrounding this timeless feature are scalloped arm piped linen sofas, their soft, elegant lines offering a perfect contrast to the marble's grandeur. Gilded brass feature lighting adds a touch of opulence, casting a warm glow over the space and highlighting the intricate details.
A custom-designed tufted ottoman serves as both a functional piece and an artistic display, carefully curated with an assortment of coffee table books and vintage finds that reflect the client's personal taste. The room’s aesthetic is further refined with the addition of a gross cloth wallpaper, its texture beautifully marrying with the traditional wainscoting wall detailing
The master bedroom was designed as a serene retreat, drawing inspiration from the client’s deep appreciation for Lewis & Wood textiles and wallpaper. The walls are enveloped in a soft botanical wallpaper from the collection, creating a calm, natural atmosphere that flows throughout the room. This botanical motif is beautifully contrasted by an ornate bedhead, upholstered in a coordinating fabric from the same collection. The bedhead’s unique design is framed with a soft powder blue fabric, subtly tying together the contrasting patterns.
At the foot of the bed, a rich silk floor rug anchors the space, while layered scatter cushions add texture and warmth. Wall sconces introduce depth and a touch of elegance, ensuring the oversized bedside tables remain clutter-free and functional. Positioned on the upper level of the property, the master bedroom offers a peaceful escape from the rest of the home, a space where luxury and comfort meet in perfect balance.
